What we collect. Your name, ID number, email address, phone number and employment type, and the documents you upload (such as ID, bank statements, pay slips, proof of residence, employment letter, proof of pension income, CIPC / CK documents and debit order authority). If you add a further party, the same kind of information about that person.
Why we collect it. Only to check whether you qualify for finance and to submit your application to our finance partner, CTI. We do not use these documents for marketing and we do not sell them.
Who can see it. SOT staff who work on finance applications, and CTI, for the purpose of assessing your application. Your documents are kept in encrypted, private storage in the European Union (Ireland), a region with strong data protection law. Each time a staff member opens a document, it is recorded in an access log.
How long we keep it. We keep your uploaded documents for up to 90 days after your application is sent to CTI (or after your last activity if it is never sent), and then we delete them. Basic application details and your consent record may be kept for up to 5 years for our records. CTI keeps its own copy under its own legal record keeping duties.
Your rights. You may ask us at any time to show you, correct or delete your information by emailing francois@smartonlinetrader.com. If you are unhappy with how we handled it, you may complain to the Information Regulator at inforeg.org.za.
